This site is dedicated to my Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) persona and the dream of honor and courage.

The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of the pre-17th-century World. We dress in clothing of the culture and age that we represent, we attend events which feature archery, heavy fighting, rapier tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes, workshops, and much more.

I participate in medieval activities in the Kingdom of Atlantia.
My persona is a samurai from the 1570’s. The intent of this web page is to share my love for archery and some of the other SCA activities, research and the projects .

I have a love for Japanese archery, I have been practicing kyujitsu for over 10 years and fully enjoy the challenge of shooting period style archery. I have also made historically accurate arrows using antique arrowheads.

I have also discovered Japanese poetry, particularly Hokku style.  There are subtleties in this form of poetry that the casual reader often misses that add so much to the enjoyment of the poem.  My research has allowed me to learn more about this style of poetry and now I enjoy the Hokku much more.

Take a moment and look around, maybe something I have done will peak your interest in the SCA or in history.  I hope I will see you at an SCA event and that you find the information and photos on my page interesting and informative.

Please enjoy your stay in Godai’s little world. (email link)
