This site is dedicated to my Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) persona and the dream of honor and courage.

The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of the pre-17th-century World.  Participants dress in clothing of the culture and age that they represent. Events feature archery, heavy fighting, rapier tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes, workshops, and much more.

I participate in medieval activities in the Kingdom of Atlantia.
My persona is a samurai from the 1570’s. The intent of this web page is to share my love for archery and some of the other SCA activities, research and the projects .

I love archery.  I have over the last 10 years been practicing kyujitsu and fully enjoy the challenge of shooting a period style of archery. I also make historically accurate arrows using antique and reproduction arrowheads.

I have also discovered Japanese poetry, particularly Hokku style.  There are subtleties in this form of poetry that the casual reader often misses that add so much to the enjoyment of the poem.  My research has allowed me to learn more about this style of poetry and now I enjoy the Hokku much more.

Take a moment and look around my website, maybe something will peak your interest in the SCA or in Japanese history.  I hope I will see you at an SCA event and that you find the information and photos on my page interesting and informative.

Please enjoy your stay in Godai’s little world. (email link)
